Personal Interests

I am a keen learner, with a passion for almost all branches of science. Much of my spare time is therefore spent reading textbooks and participating in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Currently, inspired by discoveries at CERN’s LHC, I am focusing on physics, and have set myself the challenge of understanding what the famed Higgs boson is actually all about., I am also a fan of cryptic crosswords, and am presently working on compiling a “reverse dictionary”. I hope at some point to make this available as a mobile app., Music is very important to me; in particular I love finding previously unheard artists (of almost any genre) via Internet-based music discovery services such as Last.fm, Spotify, “Band of the Day”, etc.

Affiliations

  • Physics. Currently studying part time with the Open University towards a Master of Physics degree.
  • Crosswords. Currently developing a .NET MAUI advanced crossword setting app as development exercise.
  • Cooking.
