I have experience in entertainment, sport, acting and broadcasting
My interests are sport-related particularly football. I enjoy commentating on football games, making up team sheets researching football facts, and keeping up-to-date with multiple football leagues. I have several allegiances to different football teams, for family reasons, for example, Partick Thistle as they were my dad's team, and Queen Of The South, as my mums side a from Dumfries and my great Grandfather helped found and played for the club (this is a connection I'm very proud of and one I'd like to do my next video feature on)
I have had ambition about going into sports broadcasting since my release from the Scotland Cerebral Palsy set up at a young age, as a boy I would commentate on FIFA games. I had a few-year stint on Clyde 1 with Robin Galloway as part of "Robins Weans" As I got older I always had a keen interest in football broadcasting and journalism, enjoying many a COPA 90 biopic, and pre-match packages. As a boy, I would watch Sunday Supplement with my dad. I attended the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland from the age of 6 until 16. During this time I learned many skills including camera work eg. Behind the scenes work and in front of the camera. I also learned acting and communication skills, stage makeup, and costume design, I also attended numerous auditions for independent films and movies in which I took part in. Furthermore, I learned scriptwriting and performing skills. I would back this up with a feature-style in-depth analysis and timeline of the comparison between the European Cup and Champions League, my most viewed video yet. I also had the pleasure of interviewing my dad's footballing hero Jimmy Bone who was part of the Partick Thistle league cup-winning team. I again filmed a feature-style video and documentary on my dad's experience as a boy that day as he watched his side lift the trophy. Throughout my time at university, this is something I plan on doing again.
In November 2021, I volunteered for Broadcasting Scotland during the COP26 in Glasgow, where I co-presented their show Scotland at 7. This was my first time experiencing a live broadcast, researching before the show, and reading from a teleprompter.
Throughout my time at college, and university alongside the videos I have produced, researched, scripted, written, directed, and filmed myself. I have also had numerous articles published in online newspapers and news sites. Including my latest piece on camera was interviewing Queens Park player Dom Thomas about the new stadium the club are moving into and previewing the Queen Of The South game for ITV Border, please note any of these articles and videos can be made available upon request.
