Starting as Crew in Margate in Oct 1999, I worked to Crew Trainer which I was for 1 month before being promoted to Floor manager for 3 months before becoming a shift manager after 1 year.
I was then moved to Ramsgate where I developed myself before being moved to Westwood.
At Westwood I became a Senior Shift manager before being promoted to Assistant Manager.
I was then moved back to Margate to help the then store manager before being promoted to Unit manager. This didn't work out as I tried to do too much myself and had a very argumentative assistant. Added to that the town was not the place it is now.
I moved to Canterbury DT and developed myself again before being moved to Canterbury HS. I was then moved back to Ramsgate where Sue helped develop me back to up and I was moved back to Margate at short notice to be Unit Manager again.
It was better than the first time but I didn't have a strong team, no assistant and an inexperienced management team. So I was replaced by Matt H once he returned from his sabbatical and moved to Dover to help take over the store for Paul. I helped shape the store to align with Paul's vision and standards.
I then Moved to Minster before Ramsgate again, then Margate yet again.
Before moving to Westwood as laid out in the other section.
Thought my time in all stores I feel I have learned and developed each time, learning from all the Business managers I have worked with. I received good to great feedback from Ops consultants from external visits and helps each store I worked in to achieve good scores for all visits, be it Food safety or RGRVs and their equivalents,
I have made friends and life long work acquaintances throughout and this has helped in whichever store I am in as I can always rely on support from any of the people or stores I have worked with. Although it is now normally the other way round with everyone else asking for advice or support from my extensive knowledge I have expanded over the years.
I was sent to support George in Broadstairs in early 2024 while Simon was off and although I was only there a week, I managed to make a impact on the store and help George to get the store back on track to where it needed to head,
I thought it best to condense all the stores I have worked in here.
I have learnt from my time in all stores and especially in the last few years with Richard and Sue and I know that I am the right person for the job.
All my feedback in my most recent PRs and communication days supports that I am ready to take on this next challenge as the UM/BM of Discovery Park,
