Final year medical student with a strong passion for Pre-Hospital care. Significant experience in multitasking and time management as I push myself to take opportunities but always ensure to uphold all of my responsibilities and make time for what I am passionate about.
I oversee the welfare and professionalism of 55 responders, maintaining high operational standards. My core responsibilities include:
I volunteer as a Co-Responder with EMAS, providing medical support before the arrival of crews, escalating as necessary, and assisting crews once they are on scene. Despite having only a 200h per year requirement I have currently done over 1350 hours on shift in the last 2.5 years. During this time I have upskilled to level 3+, been signed off for solo responding, mentored 7 of our new recruits and received recognition from EMAS for my assistance on scene.
Assisted in creating the society from scratch including organising the society's launch event while managing advertising initiatives.
Promoted weekly teaching sessions on social media to drive engagement.
Facilitated setup of teaching sessions, ensuring effective delivery.
Planned recruitment efforts for next academic year to bolster membership.
Designed calendar outlining fresh concepts for upcoming academic year.
I provide medical cover at events ranging from local cricket games to the F1 at silverstone. I have a FREC3 scope of practice and work with other FRs, ECAs, Technicians, Paramedics, Nurses and Doctors to treat patients before one of my colleagues either discharges them or transports them to hospital. Additionally, for larger events I attend briefings to be aware of the major incident planning and I would be involved in the major incident response if one were to occur.
I organise and record minutes for committee meetings, and follow up to ensure that all points are being actioned. Once the next academic year has started I will be assisting with recruitment and events.
