Spent a period of time working at Household Cavalry Training Wing (HCTW) as PSG (Permanent Stable Guard) part of the training team. My role was to administer medications and to teach, lead and supervise trainees making sure all work was completed by deadlines and to a high standard.

  • Supervised grooming tasks to uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the yard.
  • Delegated tasks amongst the team and the trainees promoting an efficient work environment whilst ensuring everything was done efficiently to the highest standard.
  • Oversaw feeding schedules to ensure all horses received a balanced diet according to their specific needs.
  • Coordinated enrichment activities for horses contributing towards their mental wellbeing.
  • Maintained detailed records of each horse's diet, exercise regime, medical history and behaviour patterns.
  • Upheld high standards of animal welfare adhering strictly to regulations set by the British Horse Society.
  • Groomed horses using developed abilities in clipping, trimming, pulling and plaiting.

Riding

I have an extensive interest in riding stemming from my time as a member of the Household Cavalry. Despite having no previous equine experience I have discovered a new passion and love for the care and management of horses.


Charity and voluntary work

During my time as a Cadet and throughout my service in the British Army I have been actively and consistently partaking in a wide range of charitable events. I partook in the AFC Harrogate Skydive of 2023 where we raised the grand sum of 21500 pounds for ABF the soldiers charity and a variety of other things including raising money for :

Representation

Nominated to represent the ACF (Army Cadet Force) on a MAP course (a selection of 30 Cadets from around the UK to represent the CCF on a week long trip in Bavaria.


Nominated to represent the British Army and Household Cavalry on a Diplomatic trip to Sweden and our counterparts The Swedish Life Guards. This included giving a speech about the trip detailing the differences, similarities and the key takeaways and delivering it to the full regiment consisting of around 150-200 personnel.
