Frome,Somerset

Summary

I am currently the Safeguarding Lead for England Netball; the National Governing Body for the the sport. I've improved access to, and use of, policies, processes and training and introduced new assurance processes to increase compliance with safeguarding standards. I also have over 30 years' experience in policing, specialising in investigation, public protection and risk management. As Superintendent with Avon and Somerset Constabulary, I was responsible for neighbourhood policing across the county of Somerset. As such I wore many hats. I oversaw the performance and priorities of 300 officers and staff solving problems and engaging with our communities. I chaired and contributed to several strategic partnership boards (Adults and Children Safeguarding Boards, Community Safety, Drug and Alcohol and Youth Justice among others). Previous roles saw me lead the 100-strong Offender Management Department and the Counter Terrorism Prevent Team across 2 Force areas. I am very proud of the difference I made to public safety in these challenging and rewarding roles
