- Sidesman – Welcome visitors to the building and to services and assist them, additionally with visitors with disabilities.
- Server – Take part in services with displays reverence and professionalism towards the clergy and to the congregation.
- Hospitality – Organised a range of refreshments are offered following large services.
- Exhibition Steward – Welcoming visitors to the cathedral exhibition, providing them with a brief overview of the exhibition and detailed historical information.
- These roles are very flexible, often filling in for individuals when required.

- Assisted the Bishop of St Albans at a Friends of the Cathedral event at the Bishop's house and gardens.
- I helped set up the event, laying out signs warning of uneven ground.
- Welcomed guests and helped any who had mobility issues, as well as highlighting to them the nature of the area and terrain as well as location of facilities and refreshments.
- I had to display of reverence, courteousness and respect to the guest and members.
