Interests and Activities
I have a proven ability to get along with people and work as part of a team, individually and manage. After leaving college I spent 5 years in the Army, where I understood and appreciated the benefits of team players. I spent seven months in Iraq, working under pressure and constant surveillance, taking initiative whilst working as a section commander to take charge of my section. I was promoted to Lance Corporal after coming second on my JNCO carder out of 150 other soldiers. Whilst LCPL I was a section commander, tank commander, signals storeman, SQN PTI and RSM's signaller., I then left the Army and joined BT Openreach, where I became a customer service engineer. My job role was to install and repair telephone lines. I did many courses to become a multi skilled engineer, working as a CAL OMI, jointer, broadband installing, broadband faulting, ISDN installing, ISDN faulting, RCR (route cause repair) and special faults investigator. I worked on my own proving to show good initiative and good self management., I left Openreach in Sept 2011 and joined Kelly Communications as an installation technician. I covered operations manager in Bristol. I then got promoted to Field support coach in October 2012. In November 2012 I got trained to install NGA lines. Installing Basic install, managed install and Simultaneous provides. In 2014 I moved over to Project Lightning where I was a Business and Network Surveyor. I then became patch manager for South/West Wales., I left Kelly communications in 2021 and joined Openreach as an advanced fibre joiner. I was successful in applying for a Clerk of Works role which I did for 2 years. I was then successful after interviewing for a patch lead role which I'm currently doing.
