Richard Husbands CV Additional information

  • Due to the cyclical, event-based nature of my time with Sports Logistics, I gained extensive experience in an unusually wide variety of roles. A simplified event cycle would be:
  • 1.Tender, 2.Multi-site survey, 3.Venue decoration CGI approval, 4.Advertiser artwork manipulation, 5.Individual artwork approvals, 6. Manufacture of all event material (From tens of thousands of running meters of venue decoration to individual bespoke items – typically more than five thousand SKUs.) 7.Simultaneous multisite nationwide transportation, 8.Multisite installation, 9. In-event servicing of all advertising material – movement of field signs, ad hoc repairs and replacements and facilitation of client artwork changes.
  • After the event:
  • 10. Full de-rigg, recycling and ethical disposal, 11. Consolidation of all material with the potential to be re-purposed and re-used (around 50 %).
  • Depending on circumstances (Mainly other events) I would take a leading role, in charge of any, sometimes all of those stages through the cycle. Being able to do so effectively required not just technical knowledge acquired through experience, but a genuine ability to communicate effectively and honestly with labourers, senior executives from global corporations and rights holders, and everyone in between. I enjoyed a successful 20-year career doing a job I loved, primarily because of an ability to wear multiple hats, often on the same day.
