Accountable to the Head of Service Delivery (AC) and working closely across the Swanwick Service Delivery Leadership Team,

for providing focussed people and technical leadership and direction of ATC operations to the Watch in Area Control, ensuring safe, efficient and effective service delivery. In partnership with the Watch team and fellow Operations Supervisors the role ensures delivery of consistency in safety, service delivery and people leadership as well as environmental, financial and training performance across the watches.

• Accountable to the Operations Supervisor for the safety and service provided by the operational staff on duty within the operations room.
• A key influencing operational management role responsible for the provision of clear people leadership and direction of ATC operations to the watch in the Area Control Operation Room ensuring a safe, efficient and effective service delivery. In partnership with the Operations Supervisor and the Watch team my role ensures delivery of consistency in safety, service delivery, people leadership and financial performance across the Swanwick watches.

• Responsible to the Swanwick GM for the conduct of the Unit Competence Scheme (UCS) ensuring the uniformity of reporting and standards, in conjunction with the CAPC Group and watch UCS structures.
• Liaising with SARG on matters of licensing and competence and ensuring a course of post-incident licensing action is carried out when necessary.
• Formally accepting that the processes required by legislation have been correctly conducted.
• Updating the UCS document and ensuring the UCS is administered in accordance with both regulatory and local requirements.
• Chairing the CAPC Group and co-ordinating consistency across the Unit.
• Commissioning cross watch or independent audits of the Scheme.
• Arranging Assessor Fora for 200 Unit Competence Assessors

• Accountable to the OS for the safety of the service provided and the safety leadership of an operational team within the Ops room
• Responsible for Tactical Traffic Management on a Group which comprises safety, effectiveness and efficiency of the day to day operation and for ensuring ATC capacity is optimised to meet service demand.
