
Experienced chartered accountant with over 10 years experience working in both practise and in industry, primarily pharmaceutical. Adaptable, personable and motivated to continue honing skills across different roles and sectors.
· Preparation of management reports
· Assisting with business transactions including valuations, expansions & franchising arrangements
· Direct management of offshore resource, including managing & reviewing compliance & other client engagements
· Basic exposure to UK tax & payroll system, including preparation of VAT returns
· Strong focus on Xero & automation/cloud programs (Receipt Bank, Chaser, Hubdoc) assisting clients to streamline internal functions
· Preparation of advanced financial statements & income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships & individuals
· Preparation of BAS returns, FBT returns & payroll tax returns
· Provision of full in-house finance function for variety of small businesses across range of industries, responsibilities including but not limited to: debtor management, cashflow management, liaising with banks & statutory bodies (including tax office), bookkeeping, payments & payroll
· Assisting with complex tax & business transactions including business sales, business valuations & inter-company loan arrangements
· Assisting other BDO divisions in specific engagements:
o Corporate Finance– assisting with debtor finance review on behalf of bank to large labour supply firm involving on-site discussions with key management personnel and identifying, requesting & critically analysing information provided to prepare recommendation report for bank
o Insolvency – conducting on site review of client in voluntary administration, preparing draft report outlining discussions with key management personnel, stock levels on site, and key operational observations
o Audit - assisting with stocktake of manufacturing company
o Audit – regularly providing financial information for team as and when requested (for mutual clients)
· Liaising with offshore resources to assist with compliance preparation
· Involvement in long standing property development litigation directly assisting partner in capacity as “Special Referee”:
o Preparation of detailed “reconstructed” financial reports
o Preparation of briefs required for use in negotiations & courts
o Attending court hearings & meetings with lawyers & other accountants
· Mentoring junior staff including delegation of work and directly managing two junior colleagues for 2+ years
· Preparation of management accounts, advanced financial statements, income tax returns for companies/trusts/partnerships/high net worth individuals, BAS returns, FBT returns & payroll tax returns
· Preparation of annual superannuation compliance & assisting with complex advice letters
