Throughout my time working as a kitchen porter, I would ensure that the kitchen was thoroughly cleaned and tidied at an exceptionally high standard. I organized stock to ensure that it was correctly stored and easily accessible for my colleagues and me to find. The value teamwork and communication is very clear to me also as without these skills the system in place falls apart. When working with food, I would consistently keep high adhere to food hygiene regulations by constantly keeping my station clean and ensuring proper hand washing. When it was quiet, I would ensure to find tasks to complete such as brushing the floor, organising areas of the kitchen or cleaning dirty surfaces. Being on alert was a requirement also as the chefs would require product to be brought to them. This meant that I had to have good time management to ensure that I was fulfilling my tasks well as well being on alert and helping others.
