Site Engineer

• Carry out accurate setting out using Topcon GPS equipment for road linework, levels, drainage, foundations, utilities, street lighting, SuDS water attenuation tanks, swales and cut / fill.
• Set out and verify adopted and private drainage systems, including foul/storm drainage runs, manholes, attenuation systems, and swales.
• Set out various foundation types including raft, block and beam, and strip foundations.
• Coordinate and set out utility services including electric, water, gas, fibre optic, and street lighting, ensuring correct depth and positioning in accordance with design specifications.
• Conduct detailed topographical and as-built site surveys, including existing ground levels, boundaries, drainage/services, and stockpile measurements for quantity calculations.
• Design and coordinate private drainage runs for residential developments, calculating compliant falls/gradients to meet relevant regulations and design standards.
• Work closely with archaeological and ecology teams to set out and monitor buffer zones / areas of archaeological or ecological interest, ensuring construction activities remain within approved working boundaries and do not encroach into sensitive areas.
• Produce setting out data and engineering calculations using Topcon Magnet Office, including quantity calculations and model preparation.
• Prepare and manage weekly site programmes in collaboration with site management teams.
• Complete detailed material take-offs for aggregates, concrete, tarmac, drainage materials, retaining walls, kerbing, and associated civils materials using engineering drawings and 2D/3D software.
• Carry out and record Quality Assurance Checks (QACs) across key construction phases including road formation, sub-structure, and drainage works.
• Completing health and safety check's such as trench inspection while ensuring trenches are safe to work in during scope of work.
• Prepare and issue Permits to Dig, ensuring compliance with site safety and utility procedures.
• Import and manage Topcon GPS machine control data for excavator mounted systems across all sites, enabling operators to accurately carry out earthworks, cut and fill operations, foundation excavations, retaining structure excavations, and drainage installation to specified line and level, additionally experienced in using Topcon Sitelink to remotely access machine control systems, adjust settings, and upload data off-site.
• Use Topcon Magnet Office to generate and manage digital surfaces for site operations, including platform levels for initial cut and fill exercises, existing ground level models, and stockpile surfaces to accurately calculate material volumes and surplus/deficit quantities.
• Coordinated construction activities to ensure alignment with project plans.
• Used advanced surveying technology, ensuring precise measurements and alignments.
• Conducted soil tests, resulting in stable and secure foundations.
• Ensured site safety by implementing rigorous health and safety protocols.
• Delivered projects within deadline by efficiently managing resources and personnel.
