I finished school in 2007 before heading into a 3 year plastering apprenticeship with a well known building contracting company. I knuckled down and learnt my trade, finishing my apprenticeship in 2010 whilst working with the same company where I continued to practice my trade for another 5 years. After that, the time had come for me to become self employed. I've been self employed for the last 8 years and my company has exceeded expectations. Last year, I become a father and have realised that a securely paid job is needed as there are many pressures being self employed.
I have recently passed the OPC assessments SCAAT (Safe concentration & attention test) and DFFT (Driver Fault Finder test) for a job that I applied for with Hitachi Rail, however, I was unsuccessful in the final round.
I would really appreciate the chance to put my skills and attitude to the test, and that's why I'm applying for this role as I have an interest in the railway.
