I am currently working as a Consultant in Mental Health Service for Older People at Llandough Hospital three days a week. For the past two years I have been working almost exclusively on the inpatient wards, as well as providing nominal cover for community patients. At any one time I am responsible for between 25 and 30 inpatients across the five Mental Health Services for Older People wards. Many of these patients are detained under the Mental Health Act, for the purposes of which I am the Responsible Clinician. I am routinely involved in MHA assessments, Managers' Hearings, Mental Health Review Tribunals etc.
