Reshmi Raveendran Nair

In my current role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in Acute Pain, I manage a wide range of patients across all ages and clinical areas. My responsibilities encompass triaging patients, conducting ward rounds, performing comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations, reviewing diagnostic tests, planning medical management, implementing interventions, prescribing medications, arranging follow-up care, and making referrals when necessary. This role has honed my ability to make critical, independent decisions and manage complex cases, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients so that patients receive holistic and comprehensive care tailored to their needs. I am particularly committed to continuous learning and have been actively involved in conducting training and mentorship. I have supervised and mentored junior staff, participated in the delivery of training programs, and contributed to the development of clinical competencies. In addition to my clinical expertise, I bring strong leadership and communication skills. I regularly engage with patients, families, and the wider healthcare team to ensure effective decision-making and safe, patient-centred care. I have participated in multidisciplinary team meetings and advocated for patients to ensure that their voices are heard and that they receive the best care possible. Furthermore, I have been involved in service development and quality improvement initiatives, striving to enhance the delivery of care and support the achievement of organizational goals.

I re-joined YDH in November 2021 as a recovery nurse and later progressed to the role CNS in Acute Pain Service by Feb 2022.

Worked as a Scrub Nurse in Pediatric Congenital heart surgery.

Worked as a Recovery nurse in main theatre YDH. My duties includes immediate post op care, airway management, haemodynamic monitoring ,pain management , orienting and communicating patient post surgery, explaining care needs and further plan of care, making discharge decision [to ward/ HDU/ITU ] and co-ordinating with concerned department. Also mentored the newly joint staffs and Nursing/ODP students.

Worked as a scrub nurse in General Surgery, Urology, Colorectal surgeries, Gynecology , ENT, Plastic surgery and Bariatric Surgery

Worked as a theatre scrub nurse in Head and neck Oncology, Maxillo-facial, Pediatric surgery, ENT, General Surgery , Gynaecology and plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Worked as a theatre scrub nurse in Neurosurgery, Orthopedic and Maxillo-fascial surgery. And also worked on rotational base in PACU/SICU
