Rene Blossom Holmes

As part of my future aspirations of being a hair stylist and studying at Leicester College, I secured a short apprenticeship place at House of Moose in Market Harborough.

During this short apprenticeship period, I was responsible for greeting guests by name on the bookings, in a professional manner. I would take their coats, and offer them a welcome drink to relax them before their appointment.

Other aspects included keeping the salon tidy and free of hair on the floor. I was also responsible for washing clients' hair in preparation for the stylist. I really enjoyed the fast-paced, busy, and friendly environment, and I learned so much during this time.

For my school work experience, I secured a placement at the restaurant chain, Grounded Kitchen, at Fosse Park.

During my placement, I engaged with customers, taking orders, food preparation, and also the presentation of food.

My duties also included meeting guests' needs and satisfaction while keeping the restaurant clean and tidy at all times, and maintaining the restaurant's hygiene standards.
