Interests

I enjoy teaching English language as well as literature. I have also been a form tutor for a Year 10 class and this has enabled me to be more involved in school life. I regularly differentiate lessons and resources for my students. Over the last two years I have also been working one to one with a sixth form student with autism and he has made good progress in Media studies. EBIS, Egyptian British International School, Cairo -English Teacher (Year 5). September 2013- July 2014. For one year I taught English to two Year-5 classes. This was a challenge and an extremely rewarding experience as I had the opportunity to teach English literature as well as English Language. I aimed to make the lessons interesting by introducing language games, making the lessons student centred as well as involving the students in discussions and debates. The students also followed a weekly reward sanction system which maintained high levels of classroom management and also motivated the children to follow the school rules. My dedication to teaching the children was reflected in their improvement over the year.
