Emergency First Aid Training,2024 ,
After a medical emergency in the workplace, I requested to take a course to become first aid trained. I learnt the importance of determination and resilience in high pressure situations. I have been able to use this in many aspects of my career as well as being able to assist when people are in need.
School Council, 2017,
During my time at The National Academy, I volunteered to be a form representative for the school council and in year 11 was promoted to the deputy head of year position. I learnt how critical it is to have organisational and planning skills when attending and arranging meetings with other councillors. I enjoyed being able to make a difference within the school community and benefitting myself and other students through the requests made and changes they resulted in. I continued this role at The Hucknall Sixth Form Centre this demonstrates my commitment and ability to manage my time effectively while studying.
STEM Week, 2017,
I took part in the Engineering Day during STEM Week (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), where I worked alongside an engineering consultancy and other students to design and build a bridge based off project brief requirements. During this I worked as team leader therefore I required strong communication skills. It was important that I had the ability to work as an individual as well as a team member to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.
Peer Mentoring, 2016 - 2020,
