Work history

Team Leader

Waitrose & Partners
2025.11 - 2026.06
  • I was promoted to team leader following a training period, during which I took on more responsibilities, including looks at sales figures and summarising them for my team so we can improve our performance. I've also been trained to complete several managerial tasks, such as auditing paperwork we sign and file and other administrative tasks. I'm required to complete observations on colleagues to help ensure standards are kept high. I'm also often the most senior team member so am responsible for solving any problems that arise.

Supermarket Assistant

Waitrose & Partners
2023.01 - 2025.01
  • I quickly became a reliable member of the team, working early shifts where I am the only staff member in. I was also able to build rapport with regular and occasional customers so they could trust my recommendations and keep returning. I've always had a great interest in food and cooking and this role helped improve my knowledge. I'm able to process fresh produce and follow strict food safety laws. Working in food service counters means I'm in charge of my section, so I've needed to be able to multi-task and communicate effectively with my colleagues.

Bar Staff

The Borrodale Hotel
2022.04 - 2022.09
  • This was a supervisory role which required me to ensure waiting staff were using their time efficiently, allowing me to build my leadership skills. As this role was at a hotel, I was able to build up extremely strong rapport with guests as I would see them frequently and I always wanted to be helpful and friendly. Similarly, due to the location of the hotel, a large percentage of customers would regularly come in and, again, I was able to build strong relationships with them. This experience made me realise my enjoyment of and proficiency in customer service as I relished making a difference to customers and guests.

Cafe Assistant

The Chatterbox
2019.01 - 2022.01
  • Over the time I worked here I was consistently given more responsibilities. I worked as waiting staff before being trained as a kitchen porter and also as a barista. Each role required me to interact with customers and work within a team to ensure a smooth service. I've always enjoyed being able to be trained amongst different areas of any job, as I like to take opportunities to learn new skills.
