  • I started my career at New Queen Street as a Receptionist, I moved to Administration and Secretarial duties. I also covered Dispensary on occasion. I have covered in dispensary at other Lakeside Practices.
  • I have carried out a range of duties during my employment at the Practice, they have included answering calls from patients and other organisations, booking appointments, assigning incoming pathology mail between the GP's, processing clinic letters and filing out of hours and walk in centre clinic letters.
  • I have actioned clinic letters, updating medications.
  • I was relief secretary providing holiday cover and later I took on the role of Practice secretary for 6 months.
  • I have organised clinics, meetings, including a safeguarding professionals meeting with a wider team of Health Visitors, Consultants, School Nurses, GP and Social Worker.
  • I have always offered support to the whole team from Reception, Nurses to the GP team of partners and salaried GP's along with Registrars and Locums offering advice, support and training.
  • I have been involved with reporting, creating clinical reports when needed.
  • I have taken part in audits.
  • I support the Practice Manager in the running of the branch site at Stanground. Including the day to day running, organising repairs, audits and maintenance and assisting with any day-to-day issues that may arise.
  • I was previously administrator for our Safeguarding meetings at Stanground that were held monthly prior to the central safeguarding team taking over this included taking minutes.
  • I am IT support at the Practice and known as general problem solver and “go to” person.
  • I have a good knowledge of SystmOne, using the system since we went this was introduced in 2013 and learnt different aspects of the system and problem solving over the years

  • I work within the team issuing repeat and acute prescriptions, working alongside our Clinical Pharmacists and working to protocols to allow us to re-authorise certain medications should the correct monitoring be up to date
  • I have also supported the Practice Manager with the Covid vaccination clinics that were being held at Stanground between December 2020 and June 2021, helping to manage the clinics in her absence alongside other Practice Managers and outside staff from other Practices. Duties included ensuring we were staffed appropriately, checking the fridge temperatures, downloading the clinic lists and working the clinics using pinnacle to enter the vaccination records. I also assisted with the cold chain on the odd occasion and being a contact for the staff.
  • I have been supporting with is the introduction of Anima, our new online consultation platform, helping to lead the project for the Practice. Including supporting staff with training and questions, being a point of contact for the site.
  • I have assisted with complaints, completing investigations and making contact with patients and putting together a response.
  • I used to attend the PPG meetings at Stanground listening to the patients and passing on relevant information.
  • I have always been a point of contact for all staff and teams offering support and advice when needed.
  • I will always try and be a positive role model to both colleagues and patients.
  • I will always try my upmost best to resolve any issues or queries. If I do not know the answer I will do my best to find it out.
  • I am a fire warden and the health and safety contact for Stanground.
  • I will always offer clear communications ensuring any relevant information is passed to colleagues.
