Advanced Echocardiography and reporting skills Clinical Decision-Making in a high pressured setting Leadership and Training Patient-Centered Care

• Proficiency in Cardiac Imaging : highly skilled in performing and interpreting a wide range of echocardiographic procedures, including transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), transesophageal echocardiograms (TOE), and Doppler studies, specifically for congenital heart defects.
• Complex Assessments : Expertise in assessing both simple and complex congenital heart conditions (e.g., septal defects, valve malformations, and structural abnormalities), often working with paediatric and adult patients who have congenital heart disease (CHD).
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration : Work closely with paediatric and adult congenital cardiologists, surgeons, and anaesthetists, contributing their expertise to clinical discussions and treatment plans.
• Critical Role in Intervention Planning : Echocardiography is used to guide surgical or catheter-based interventions.
• Team Leadership : Took leadership and manage a team of cardiac physiologists, providing guidance, mentoring, and training in advanced echocardiographic techniques.
• Quality Control : Responsible for ensuring that all echocardiographic studies are performed to highest standards through clinical audit
• Continuous Education : Kept up to date with latest advancements in congenital heart disease and echocardiographic technology, ensuring that the department stays current with best practices and new technologies.
• Tailored Imaging : Skilled in modifying imaging protocols based on patient's specific congenital heart condition, age, and size, ensuring best possible image quality for diagnosis.
• Patient Communication : Experience in efficiently and effectively communicating with patients modifying communication techniques based upon patient age.

• To help provide a high quality cardiac investigation service to children with known or suspected cardiac disease working in both outpatient and inpatient setting.
• Liaising with senior medical professionals, consultants and surgeon's to help in the diagnosis and management of children with congenital heart disease in the only paediatric cardiology surgical centre in Ireland.
