A star swim school is a for young children learning to swim I am based in the beginners class, where I help to settle children who are afraid and/or who have never swam before and introduce them slowly into the group classes as they build there confidence.
I started this job as an apprentice during this time with the company, andI was promoted twice, once to room leader within the preschool room and then again to third in charge. Which came with more responsibility, such as overseeing staff and their duties, as well as attending meetings with other agencies for our SEN children and our children under CAMS or LAC. I would also liaise with outside agencies when they attended the setting to learn and help deliver specialist care to additional needs children following their care plans.
I am an adventurous person and enjoy being in an outdoor environment with nature and will spend most of my own time hiking, mountaineering, wild swimming, paddle boarding and camping. I am someone who enjoys learning new skills and educating myself to be the best I can be in every circumstance, meaning that I will often seek out constructive feedback to help myself improve. I pride myself on being welcoming and approachable. I find satisfaction in self-development and will push myself to tackle problems head-on even when it's scary.
I am currently in the process of completing my level three Forest School leadership qualification. I have just completed a government-funded coursee for Staffordshire council in speech, language and communication, to help identify delays and potential speech problems, and trained in how to offer early intervention before making a referral. I have volunteered as a scout leader, running sessions for large groups of children aged eight to eleven, teaching them new skills such as kayaking, abseiling and taking them on group camping trips. I am a casual babysitter in my spare time, providing a warm and professional service. I enjoy meeting new families and working with them to create a friendly, trusting relationship. In this role, I have worked with children of all ages, varied parenting styles and circumstances, including looking after a child with additional needs.
