Joined Emerald as part of their strategy to develop a network of Urgent Care Clinic to bridge the gap between GP Surgeries and NHS A&E departments.

Responsible for producing financial and management accounts for 5 businesses within the group

• Help to set up 3 Urgent Care Clinics in Northern Ireland
• Producing monthly accounts within 10 days of month-end.
• Monitoring performance against targets
• Reconciling all P&L and Balance Sheet nominal accounts.
• Produced monthly cashflow forecasting
• Responsible for staff and supplier payments
• Preparation of yearend accounts

Joined as their accountant and due to its rapid growth took on the role of project manager, instrumental in winning the company's largest contract to build 44 houses in Hereford worth £6.1million.

• Managed construction of 88 houses over 3 sites.
• Costed and produced tenders from £2million to £6million.
• Vetted and appointed new sub-contractors.
• Reviewed build programs with clients and produced valuations.
• Monitored site costs against budgets.
• Ensured projects were completed on time.

While running the guest house started working with a Bangor based Accountancy company who introduced me to clients who had problems with their accounts. Based on the quality of my work became their go to person, initially for book keeping then accounts work.

• Clients ranged from Restaurants turning over £250,000 to Civil Engineering Companies turning over £2 million to Expedition Organisation turning over £7 million.
• For smaller companies helped them keep on top of their accounts especially VAT returns.

As a life style change moved to Wales and bought a guest house.

Full P&L and budget responsibility for running Kremlin's UK subsidiary.

• Produced monthly management accounts
• Made the company profitable within 6 months and consistently achieving 10% net profit.
• Increased turnover by 50% within 4 years in a declining market.
• Introduced marketing to the company, which included targeting key business sectors, setting up customer & prospect databases and direct mailing campaigns. A significant factor in the growth of the business.
• Changed the culture of the company and staff so that Kremlin offers the best after-sales service in the business.
• Reduced operating costs by relocating the company twice in 10 years.
