Day to day operational lead for a large multi site acute provider with a balanced portfolio across both elective and non elective care.


Achievements:

  • Formulated and led the UHDB elective recovery plan delivering exit from Tier 1 of national regulation for Elective and Cancer care Q1 24/25 and exit from tiering for Cancer altogether during Q2 24/25 with a 42% reduction in the cancer backlog.,
  • Lead for seasonal planning supporting continuous improvement in 4 hour A&E performance through winter 23/24, with a 5% point increase in March 2024. This delivered above the 76% target at network level and represented the best performance or all Trusts in England with attendances above 30,000 per month. Trust level performance sustained at around 70% through 24/25.
  • Supported the increase in productivity measured in Value Weighted Activity (% of 19/20) from 97% December 2023 to above 116% by March 2024 and delivery of year end financial targets. VWA sustained at the levels required to average 107% by 24/25 year end.
  • Refreshed the Operational Governance Structure to embed processes and framework for sustainable delivery.
