Skills

  • CAD (Autodesk Inventor Professional): Proficient in 3D CAD modelling and assembly design Used to design an epicyclic gearbox, a two-stage gearbox, and components of a cone-releasing vehicle

  • MATLAB: Proficient in programming, data processing, and graphical analysis Applied to analyse experimental data and visualise trends for laboratory reports and engineering projects

  • Python: Intermediate proficiency in programming Used to develop a face mask detection system employing neural networks and machine learning model training techniques

  • ANSYS Mechanical: Proficient in performing finite element analysis (FEA) for structural assessment of engineering components, including stress and deformation analysis to support design optimisation and validation

  • Microsoft Office: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Regularly used Word for technical reports, Excel for experimental data processing and analysis, and PowerPoint for presenting findings and conclusions from engineering investigations

Engineering Projects & Technical Skills

Gearbox Design: Designed a two-gear gearbox incorporating seals, bearings, circlips, and gaskets to ensure efficient and reliable operation. Conducted detailed research to determine appropriate component specifications, including screw sizes and seal diameters, applying theoretical mechanical knowledge to a practical design context. Enhanced attention to detail through integration of multiple mechanical systems into a functional assembly.

Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) Design: Developed an automated vehicle capable of deploying traffic cones at specified intervals and timeframes as part of a team project. Acted as team leader, coordinating internal deadlines, assigning roles, and organising weekly meetings to ensure project progression. Designed key components using CAD, including the cone ramp and scotch yoke mechanism, and performed supporting engineering calculations. Strengthened leadership, analytical, and communication skills through project delivery.

Epicyclic Gearbox Design: Designed spur, sun, and ring gears for an epicyclic gearbox using CAD, along with associated components including shafts, keys, and gear assemblies. Gained experience in modelling and assembling complex mechanical systems. Conducted materials research to evaluate suitable and cost-effective alternatives for component selection.

Hydrogen-Powered Component Transport Aircraft Group Project: Contributed to the conceptual design of a hydrogen-powered component transport aircraft, with responsibility for wing structures. Developed the design in accordance with customer requirements and performance specifications. Ensured compliance with relevant EASA and ICAO standards, maintaining adherence to aviation safety, airworthiness, and regulatory requirements throughout development. Conducted independent research into hydrogen propulsion and its application in aerospace structural design within a developing field. Collaborated effectively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining clear communication across subsystems and ensuring integration of design inputs. Demonstrated strong professionalism through punctual attendance at meetings, adherence to internal deadlines, and active contribution to design discussions.

Frontal Polymer Behaviour at Cryogenic Temperatures: Investigated the behaviour of frontal polymerisation systems under cryogenic conditions through experimental research for final year project. Evaluated the potential applicability of this emerging curing process for lunar surface environments, where significantly reduced energy requirements compared to conventional polymerisation methods offer key advantages. Designed and conducted independent experiments based on literature review and prior research analysis. Developed conclusions through interpretation of experimental data and comparison with existing studies. Maintained structured project management through adherence to internal deadlines and regular progress updates with the project supervisor.

Vesak Lantern Electrical Design (Personal Project): Developed and assembled the electrical lighting system for a Vesak lantern, selecting and integrating appropriate connectors and power supply components to achieve a stable and functional circuit. Conducted practical testing and troubleshooting to ensure reliable operation. Completed all stages of the project within given deadlines. Strengthened hands-on understanding of basic electrical systems, component integration, and practical problem-solving.

Activities & Interests
