Summary

I am currently working within the Public Health Sector for Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals. My Current role is a secondment supporting and working alongside the Complex and Vulnerable Families Team within the 0-19 Service. The aim of the pilot is to reduce health inequalities for Families and Young people with complex needs. In addition to direct work with Families I am also responsible for refining our current pathway of support. Previous to this I was working within a teaching role within school nursing.

I hold a bachelors degree in Primary Education with a specialism in the Early Years.

I have previously worked many years within Childcare and Nursery Management. I am a qualified assessor having previously supported apprentices in the workplace. I continue to look to raise standards within my work and look for a role which encapsulates all of my previous skills and experience.

  • Currently on a secondment Role within the 0-19 Service which was a natural progression from my previous role.
  • Current Role is a part of a Pilot working alongside the Complex and Vulnerable Families Team supporting families around Drugs and Alcohol, having an individual caseload of work
  • The focus of the pilot is to help support health inequalities across Newcastle, this will often be through an Early Help plan or Under 18 proforma
  • Areas of support include Dental, Domestic Violence, Healthy Lifestyles, Mental Health, school attendance and Finance
  • I have produced case studies which have helped to re structure the way in which we currently work
  • I have strengthened working relationships with Partner Agencies such as Newcastle Treatment and Recovery and Newcastle Council
  • I have helped to arrange a Personal Development Forum for 0-19 staff around the Pilot and the data collected
  • I have an ongoing lead role within the Trust Wellbeing Team and Social media Team which allows me to share relevant Public Health information with Staff and Service users.

  • I joined the NHS in November 2020 as a School Health Support Worker, working primarily across the Outer West of Newcastle.
  • Duties included maintaining a caseload of work and referrals
  • I was also responsible for running a secondary school drop in and supporting young people around Heathy Lifestyles, Healthy relationships and staying safe
  • Frequent delivery of PSHE lessons in schools including Puberty
  • I organised and carried out The National Child Measurement Programme annually
  • Supported a team of School Nurses
  • Responsible for Pop up events within school and the Local community and I maintained and updated all Public Health resources used within the team

  • I was responsible for the running of the Preschool room, all activities and topics including a lead role inn supporting room staff and apprentices
  • I am proud to have been able to have updated the garden area to including the Seven Key areas of Learning
  • Responsibilities also included, parents’ evenings, school transition paperwork, Individual child observations.
  • I was lucky enough to attend The Nursery Management Awards twice following nominations for Nursery of the Year and a personal Nomination of EYFS lead of the year, something I was extremely proud of having worked for the company for only a short period of time.

  • Having completed a placement at Maple lodge whilst within my studies I was asked to stay on, taking on a lead role within the Preschool room.
  • I also Gained extensive experience of childcare, child needs and childhood development across all rooms and ages 6 months to 5 years
  • I sourced funding to improve the outdoor area for all children
  • I Supported and arranged Fundraising events and activities
  • I quickly Progressed to Deputy Manager taking a lead role within the setting, responsible for supporting The Nursery Manager and staff. Safeguarding all staff and children.
  • Supported in the smooth running of all aspects of the business.
  • I was proud to then be promoted to Nursery Manager, responsible for the day to day running of the setting, all events, parent visits, child inductions, recruitment, resources and orders, staff appraisals, Health and safety lead
  • Lead an Ofsted Inspection – Graded GOOD .
