  • As part of the FP&A team, partnering the Marketing, Creative and Streaming (MC&S) teams within Channel 4, we were responsible for the forward planning for the MC&S teams, including quarterly forecasts, annual budget and the longer-term planning.
  • I was personally responsible for the monthly headcount reconciliation process, working with Group FP&A to ensure that personnel changes within the MC&S teams are correctly recorded in the finance teams i.e. vacancies, new starters, maternity leave, secondments etc.
  • Towards the end of my contract, I started to work on different strategic projects including the costing and modelling of supplier proposals for the Streaming business.
  • Other typical tasks included collaborating with other areas of the finance team and the business to answer various finance queries from the MC&S teams e.g. variances of revenues/costs to forecast/budget.

  • As a finance partner to the Enterprise business team, my role was diverse and supported several revenue streams; Competitions (SMS & Online), Offers, Partnerships, Music Composing/Licensing and others (£95m total revenue).
  • My routine duties involved monitoring and reporting the weekly performance of the Competitions team, participating in strategic meetings, and providing guidance on invoicing, VAT, and other financial processes.
  • I was responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts for all revenue streams and monthly forecasting.
  • I also managed the Enterprise Overheads budget of approximately £2m, covering direct personnel expenses and project budgets.
  • To assist with the upgrade of the finance system (SAP4HANA), I was chosen as a key user for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), working with the external project team to test and ensure the system was ready for launch. The system was launched as planned, in January 2024.
  • Whilst in role, I led a project to streamline and improve the monthly forecasting and reporting processes for Enterprise, developing a new Marketing report for a new business area.

  • Other responsibilities included the development of reporting to support strategic decision making, budgeting, and forecasting for the physical stores.
  • Whilst in role, I delivered a Bonus Scheme model, used to evaluate the appropriate levels for colleague incentive bonuses and was based on expected performance and sales target.

  • My first role at Butlins was as a retail finance analyst/partner to the Food & Beverages Finance and Operational teams.
  • Key responsibilities included producing regular financial KPI reports, updating the teams on trends and performance, managing the budget and projection (forecast) process.
  • During the initial lockdown period from March to July 2020, I was selected to support the Finance Director in working through the pandemic, as the central finance support during this period.
  • My responsibilities expanded to dealing with all finance queries and reporting - from ensuring suppliers were still paid (raising purchase orders), to calculating the impact of 'Eat Out to Help Out' Scheme during Summer 2020.
  • My final role at Butlins was in the FP&A team.
  • My main responsibilities include performance reporting, financial control, forecasting, budgeting and development of reporting to support decision making e.g. decisions on the pricing of midweek/weekend breaks.
  • I also worked on some transformation projects including an operational project to update and modernise older rooms and chalets at the resorts.

  • Whilst in role, I also had the opportunity to work on cross functional projects, supporting the Finance Manager and acting as the finance lead/team representative.
  • Projects included working on a companywide ZBB project alongside Accenture, implementation of a new cost allocation process and a benefits framework.
