- At Carers Support I worked with clients who were unpaid carers for friends and family. The therapy focused mainly on the effect the caring role had on the client in the here-and-now, and of course this brought up lots of other issues and patterns within the client's life.
- The charity offered brief therapy, usually six sessions, so I am confident in working in a time limited way.
- For me, the relationship between counsellor and client is of utmost importance, and I feel I was able to build a therapeutic relationship with the client within the time constraints I had.
- I am a Humanistic counsellor, and I work in a person-centred way, using focusing to delve deeper into the client's emotions and experience.
- I completed CORE forms with each client, as well as evaluation forms.
- I was required to complete paperwork for the charity, as well as keep my own paperwork and notes.
- I have currently completed 80 hours of client work.
- I have experience of working both on the phone, and online with clients.
