Social Work practitioner with over ten years experience within Children Safeguarding teams and Children Looked After Teams. This has involved completion of assessment for children and young people with differing needs subject to Child in Need, Child Protection and Child Looked After processes ranging in complexity.
Very competent author of written reports including assessments and other documentation for the purpose of Court. This experience has provided the ability to analyse complex information, identify and assess risk and form professional judgements in regard to care planning.
Very proud of the profession and hold a strong value base, striving to continually to adopt relational approaches in engagement with children, young people and families.
An empathetic individual who will seek and consider alternative narratives to events and accounts being shared to increase understanding of the views and experiences of others.
Making use of reflection about practice and use this as an opportunity to learn and develop. Experience of supporting and mentoring students. Recently piece of work which was to support the team with the assessment, planning and review of family time.
A quality held is that I am able to remain calm in a crisis and pressurised situation. This ensure my practice remains of a high standard and I am able influence others positively to reduce the likelihood of other colleagues becoming overwhelmed.
The most recent case work I have undertaken that I am particularly proud of includes a successful reunification for child to return to the care of her mother and step-father after a pro-longed period of the child been in care; my role in planning the testing of restrictions in a Deprivation of Liberty Order for a young person.
