• Expanded the companies interior design offering to sit alongside the existing sectors of the business. Mentoring a graduate designer in all aspects of commercial design, developing client relationships and winning new business.

• Providing specification and design consultation for independent developers. Advising on layouts, materials, levels of specification and market trends to achieve maximum market value.

Being responsible for every element of the build from brick skin in - joinery, sanitaryware, kitchens, appliances, fixtures and fittings, paint colours, tiles, and flooring. Advising on specification level appropriate to location and designing and fitting out show homes.

• Responsible for producing designs for classroom layouts using the school’s brief and Papworth’s range of extensive classroom and laboratory systems.
• Then maternity leave for 6 months

• Tim and I worked together at Baron Design, so it was great fun working with him in his new business. Projects ranged from student accommodation, university cafes, small private apartments and quirky one-off commissions. Working as a team we prepared quotes, presentations and layout designs for clients such as Downing College and Cavendish Laboratory.

• Baron Design’s core business came from the many universities and schools in and around Cambridge. I worked with a lovely team of designers on many refurbishment projects for various colleges but also some interesting jobs for Lloyds TSB and Darley Stud in Newmarket. Each designer was responsible for seeing a job through from quote, presentation, working drawings to final site install.

• PMT specialise in historic buildings, and I spent a fascinating year doing restoration reports, scrabbling around Westminster Abbey and helping local churches trying to comply with DDA regulations. I ultimately decided architecture wasn’t for me but loved every minute of it.

• Working on various projects (office, hotel, retail) before working freelance producing drawing sets for Toni and Guy salons in Sydney. Woodhead International which was my first role in a corporate setting but invaluable in seeing how each discipline; planning, engineering, project management, worked together to deliver large scale projects.
• Australian gap year

• Initially employed to finish the specification on a refurbished office development in High Wycombe, followed by several high-end refurbishments on some beautiful Notting Hill townhouses. It was great fun and a varied, hands on introduction to property development.
