Raad Kurdi

While working as a mechanic in Amman, Jordan, I gained experience in repairing and restoring vehicles. I carried out tasks such as brake changes, oil changes, engine rebuilds, and so on.

Outside of this, I was also purchasing, restoring, and selling classic cars. For example, I once restored a 1968 Volkswagen Beetle, and a 1966 Mercedes 280 SE.

Working in tough work environments taught me how to remain both patient and professional whilst working.

Obeying health and safety regulations during work encouraged both precision and punctuation in my work.

I learnt how to communicate with customers with a range of different needs, ranging from providing product information to handling payments as a cashier.

Working amongst colleagues for the first time taught me the importance of teamwork and encouraged me to identify my strengths and weaknesses and learn from those around me.
