Summary

I am a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience, 15 of which have been at senior Band 6 and 7 levels, and I am currently working as a Band 7 Nurse Specialist in Respiratory Medicine. I hold a BSc (Hons) Nursing degree (Upper Second Class, 2004) and am an Independent Nurse Prescriber. I am currently completing the Mary Seacole Leadership Programme, due to finish in November 2025, which is further strengthening my leadership, service development, and change management skills.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience across acute and community settings, including acute medical admission units, elderly care, high dependency, accident and emergency, and respiratory wards. I have developed advanced skills in the management of long-term conditions, such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, and bronchiectasis. My current role includes running independent nurse-led outpatient clinics, supporting patients through acute flare-ups, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centred care. I also have significant experience in OPAT and virtual ward models of care, enabling safe management of patients at home.

My career vision has always been rooted in community care, particularly working with older adults living with long-term conditions. I have a strong appreciation for the value of intermediate care, continuity, and reviewing patients in their own homes, where treatment plans can be implemented with dignity and comfort. My experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading teams and caring for acutely unwell patients on NIV and HFNO, further deepened my resilience, compassion, and teamwork under pressure.

I am a hardworking, reliable, and adaptable nurse with an excellent attendance record. I pride myself on my strong communication skills, collaborative working, and commitment to lifelong learning. I have completed postgraduate modules in Asthma and COPD and remain dedicated to evidence-based practice. I also enjoy mentoring colleagues and supporting service improvement.

Having visited Australia recently, I was inspired by the lifestyle, culture, and opportunities, particularly in Melbourne, Geelong, Sydney, and across the Victorian countryside. I am relocating with my 10-year-old daughter and am eager to embrace a new life while continuing to grow professionally as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner. I am confident that my clinical expertise, leadership skills, and passion for patient-centred respiratory and community care will enable me to make a meaningful contribution to healthcare in Australia.
