Experienced auditor with over 15 years of diverse international experience leading and managing financial and non-financial sector clients across the UK, Europe, East Africa, and India. Currently a Senior Manager at BDO London, specialising in private equity funds, venture capital, investment trusts, and asset & wealth management industries.

• Quality Assurance & Risk Management:

- Conduct rigorous internal file reviews and coaching, reinforcing the application of ISAs and professional scepticism in high-risk and complex audit areas, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and firm standards.

- Participated in internal file reviews as part of the Director promotion pathway, presenting findings to the Responsible Individual (RI) and engagement Partner.

- In 2024/25, successfully led two listed renewable infrastructure fund audits through internal quality reviews, achieving a Rating 1 on both engagements.

- Collaborated effectively with the Quality & Risk Support Team (QRST), independently managing ongoing file reviews and addressing all technical and risk-related queries.

• Firm Contributions:

- Play a key role in firm-wide initiatives, including embedding High Performing Team audit behaviours, leading internal manager interviews, and facilitating Summer School training sessions.

- Support business growth through active involvement in audit tenders, in-depth KPI analysis of recovery and utilisation, and leading performance reviews to drive team and client success.

• Portfolio Leadership & Audit Delivery:

- Lead audits for a £2 million portfolio, including listed and unlisted investment entities. Manage one of the firm’s largest private equity funds (£1.4m audit fees), ensuring delivery of high-quality audits under UK GAAP and IFRS with a focus on risk management, efficiency, and stakeholder confidence.

• Client & Stakeholder Management

- Serve as the primary contact for senior clients, managing complex, cross-border audit teams. Present audit findings and strategic insights directly to boards and audit committees, maintaining strong professional relationships with CFOs, Fund Managers, and Board members.

• Technical & Strategic Expertise:

- Experienced in the valuation of unquoted investments (including fund of funds, venture investments, renewable infra funds etc). Also experiences in handling key and complex areas such as carried interest for funds, impairment of goodwill/investments, going concern evaluations, and implementing emerging accounting standards. Provide authoritative advice on complex technical matters to clients and internal teams.

• Innovation & Process Improvement:

- With the help of a Partner, designed and implemented a standardised audit methodology across 30 private equity funds. Embedded control testing frameworks and data-driven audit models to enhance quality, reduce risk, and drive operational efficiency across engagements.

• Business Development & Practice Growth:

- Lead and support business development efforts, including audit tenders, pricing strategies, and client overrun proposals. Conduct recovery and utilisation analyses to optimise team performance and contribute to firm-wide initiatives such as High Performing Teams and internal talent development programs.

• Team Leadership & Talent Development:

- Mentor and develop my immediate team of 30 people in the portfolio as well as the wider audit pool, delivering technical training on professional judgement framework, impairment, valuation, and going concern topics. Advocate and facilitate the use of BDO audit tools to improve consistency, quality, and cost-effectiveness in audit delivery.
