Alongside my job at The Cornish Bakery, I also occasionally did shifts at a local pub. Responsible for serving customers, handling payments, and maintaining a welcoming environment. I particularly enjoyed the role because of the friendly atmosphere, the talkative regular customers, and the opportunity to work alongside many of my friends. The position helped me develop strong communication and interpersonal skills, as I interacted with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and age groups on a daily basis. This experience increased my confidence when speaking to others and taught me how to build positive relationships while providing excellent customer service.

I worked at The Cornish Bakery for almost two years, where I gained valuable experience in customer service and teamwork, whilst working in a fast-paced environment. My role involved serving customers, preparing food and making drinks such as coffee. In addition to this, I also had to make sure I was maintaining cleanliness, and helping ensure the bakery ran smoothly during busy periods. I enjoyed the variety of tasks each day and appreciated being part of a friendly and supportive team. Through this role, I developed strong communication, organisation, people skills and time management skills. Time management was significantly important in this role, especially during busy periods like Sidmouth Folk Week and summer in general. However, after working there for almost 2 years, I left the position to focus on my A-Level studies, which I have just completed, as the increasing academic demands required my full attention.
