I am a motivated and enthusiastic trainee Physical Education teacher, currently completing my teacher training, with a strong academic background in Sport Science after graduating with a Sport and Exercise Science degree. I am passionate about promoting physical activity, student wellbeing, and inclusive participation within PE. Through my training placements, I have developed confidence in planning and delivering engaging lessons, using assessment for learning strategies, and adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners. I have also contributed to extracurricular sport, helping to increase student engagement, particularly among female pupils. Alongside my teaching experience, my background in sport and professional roles has strengthened my communication, organisation, and teamwork skills. I am passionate about fitness, sport, and maintaining an active lifestyle, and I enjoy participating in a range of physical activities that promote both physical and mental wellbeing. I am eager to begin my career as a PE teacher, where I can continue to develop professionally and make a positive impact on students’ physical and emotional development.
In my current role as an Event Assistant with Cancer Research UK, I demonstrate strong initiative when working independently on course, alongside excellent communication with staff, volunteers, and participants. I consistently maintain high levels of punctuality, including early 5am event starts, and take a proactive approach when undertaking managerial responsibilities to ensure events run smoothly.
I took orders and prepared and served food and alcoholic drinks in a busy hospitality setting. I set up tables, prepared the bar, and maintained cleanliness across the restaurant and kitchen. During the Hay Festival, I worked as a pastry chef for three weeks, independently making and plating desserts. I collaborated effectively across front-of-house and kitchen teams, and managed bookings and deposits efficiently.
In a busy café environment, I was responsible for taking customer orders and processing payments efficiently. I developed skills in operating equipment, including coffee machines, and worked as a reliable team member. My role included preparing and serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to hygiene standards. I communicated confidently with customers, resolving issues effectively and ensuring a positive experience.
