I am an extrovert, I enjoy talking to people and meeting new people. I constantly push myself to achieve the highest standards while maintaining a positive outlook, which can be reflected in my academic and hospitality work. I am a reliable employee dedicated to an establishment and put others' desires before myself to satisfy superiors or customers. Although striving to be a perfectionist, I can still take time to communicate with everyone and create a fun and enthusiastic environment with colleagues.
My role as hospitality assistant means I greet customers on race days at the gates and walk them to the restaurant, where I take them to their assigned seats. This allows me to improve my social skills and give customers the best experience they can have in hopes of them coming back. Throughout the day, I check in with every table, starting conversations to maximise their satisfaction and allow them to voice any complaints they might have. If a customer has a complaint, I am very reassuring and make sure that it is solved as quickly as possible, whether it be taking over service or communicating with senior staff members. In such a busy working environment with prestige standards, I consider my colleagues and make sure I am helping not only the bar staff but also them, creating a trust and friendly environment in which to work cohesively.
As a barmaid and waitress, I am used to a busy environment where time management and multitasking are needed to excel. Even in a busy environment, I could use my social skills to communicate with customers and fulfil their wants and needs to an exceptional level, attracting them back to the establishment. I am capable of changing kegs and keeping a clean and stocked workspace. While working at The Bottle and Glass, managers praised me on multiple occasions, which led me to be trusted to run the bar myself, both at opening and closing times, due to my dedication and knowledge of behind a bar.
At the Cricket Club, I worked behind the bar during the summer tournament. Although working briefly, I communicated with everyone, creating camaraderie with regular customers while welcoming other teams. I ensured the entire stock was collected, and the glasses were collected from inside and out. Although it was a crowded space, I maintained a clean environment, keeping the flow of customers smooth and quick to avoid waiting. Outside of shifts, I helped the kitchen staff with deep cleaning to maintain a hygienic space and prepping the kitchen for the following days.
