My role implements the NIST 800-53A security control framework on behalf of the MOD and US DoD to ensure compliance, resilience, and secure operations in support of a high-tempo military mission. I have conducted security assessments, risk analysis, and compliance audits to identify vulnerabilities and maintain robust cyber defence capabilities.Collaborated with stakeholders to align information assurance practices with operational requirements, ensuring seamless interoperability across defence networks. Produced and maintained accreditation documentation and risk management artefacts to support system authorisation and operational readiness. Acted as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on cybersecurity strategy, assurance, and risk mitigation in time-critical environments.

Redesigned the Local Key Management System (LKMS) backup process, implementing a more efficient and reliable method, and updated Local Work Instructions (LWI) to ensure database integrity during key delivery and destruction cycles.

Coordinated hardware/software upgrades to the LKMS, liaising with Airbus UK and Command COMSEC to maintain compliance with Security Operating Procedures (SyOps).

Completed specialist training in cryptographic systems, including LKMS (Local Key Generation), Catapan operations (L3 Harris), Cryptographic Custodian Course (RAF Cosford), and CODES accounting.

Overhauled the cryptographic check sheet system to ensure JSP490 compliance by migrating to a secure Microsoft Teams platform, improving accessibility, auditability, and security of cryptographic records.

Acted as Alternate Custodian, supporting role transition, covering custodial duties in the primary custodian’s absence, and mentoring colleagues through training and procedural guidance.

Compiled and updated Risk Assessments for the COMSEC environment, introducing safeguards for lone working and enhancing operational security.

Supported the F-35 infrastructure installation, briefing senior military and civilian personnel, interpreting complex CIS requirements, and ensuring compliance with SCIDA regulations for secure system separation.

Coordinated the MyMODNET laptop rollout, liaising between military stakeholders and civilian contractors to assess CIS requirements, conduct site-wide surveys, and ensure a smooth transition with no service disruption.

Deployed to the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI) as administrator for a TOP SECRET system, auditing accounts and coordinating updates with RAF Leeming, Fujitsu UK, and GCHQ.

Oversaw CIS change management at RAF Marham, assessing feasibility of requests, safeguarding security standards, and leading the first MOD site installation of Defence Business Internet (DBI) in collaboration with BT and SCIDA.
