Experienced Buildings Consultant specialising in managing complex building projects within educational institutions. Delivering strategic advice on new academy builds while collaborating with Department of Education and contractors. Oversaw maintenance and facilities management for multiple academies within Horizons Specialist Academy Trust as well as serving as their Health and Safety Manager. Following a comprehensive career beginning as an apprentice plumber at Stockton Borough Council I took early retirement in 2019.
Currently working on a consultancy basis for an Academy Trust advising on new academy builds, working alongside the Department of Education (DfE) and liaising with architects and building contractors.
Co-ordinated the management of empty council housing. Liaised with council trades to ensure that empty properties were, cleared, repaired and maintained within timescales in order to be ready for new tenants.
Completed apprenticeship and worked in council properties across Stockton Borough, focusing on plumbing and heating. Promoted to chargehand and then foreman, supervising plumbers and tradesmen. Monitored performance and organised work programmes to ensure project completion.
