  • Successfully managed, developed, and coached a high performing and responsive team of inspectors to ensure the continuous delivery of the inspection, enforcement and engagement programme.
  • Oversaw the reduction in inadequate rated services from 12% down to under 0.5% after new legislation came into force in April 2015. At the time of leaving my post, around 90% of services were rated as good or outstanding.
  • Successfully led on the design and embedding of the Cross Directorate Network Meeting, relationships and workstreams for Cheshire and Merseyside in 2019. This was later adopted across the North and wider.
  • Removed the barriers with external partners such as providers, local authorities, and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s), creating an environment of trust, effective engagement, and information sharing to keep people safe from the risk of harm.
  • Developed and maintained excellent working relationships at Executive and all other levels within CQC.
  • Successfully led on a Fit and Proper Persons Requirements (FPPR) case which led to the resignation of an unfit director from the Social Care market. This drove significant improvement in the seven services concerned. This learning was widely shared across CQC.
  • Became media trained in 2017. I had deputised for the Deputy Chief Inspector by undertaking media duties.
