Project: Building new homes for University of Cambridge’s Department of Physics located on the West Cambridge Campus.

Ray Dolby Centre, Cambridge

Duties Include:

• Supervised and oversaw the direction of the project to ensured that the client’s specifications and requirements were met, reviewed progress, and liaised with other members of the teams.
• Liaised with the client, subcontractors, tenants, and members of the public.
• Performed safety inspections and ensured construction and site safety.
• Maintained quality control procedures.
• Coordinated and supervised construction workers.
• Checked and prepared site reports
• Issued permits for clean rooms and assessed to minimise risk.
• Involved in report writing and keeping on top of framework.

Project achievement: Refurbishment of Cambridge assessment office designs on Hills road, Cambridge.

Duties include:

• Set up site alongside the contracts managers, to ensure the storage rooms, welfare, site office etc was ready in advance
• Ensured all the relevant PPE were on site prior to the commencement of work. Otherwise, liaised with the contracts manager/H&S Manager to order. Also ensured that the relevant signage and barriers etc. were on site.
• Conducted inductions to all operatives prior to starting any works on site, making sure that both the induction forms and Rams are filled in correctly.
• Ensured that the working areas are kept clean and swept on a regular basis.
• Liaised with the contracts manager for the correct and required labour to do all the task in hand/phasing.
• Participated in daily meetings with the contract managers on what are expected for the day ahead, to make sure you are where you need to be come close of the day.
• Oversaw the day –to-day operations of site to ensure all were working in a safe manner to prevent risks and to ensure effective completion of work to the highest standard.
