I am an outgoing and personable individual with a passion for connecting with and supporting others, building relationships, and delivering exceptional service. As General Manager of a Sports Bar, I have strengthened my communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills, successfully managing teams and navigating complex situations. I excel at resolving conflicts and managing stress with patience and quick decision-making in high-pressure environments. My previous experience in fast food developed my ability to ensure smooth operations under pressure and adapt efficiently to dynamic challenges. I am committed to maintaining high physical fitness through long-distance running and strength training, ensuring I am well-prepared for demanding environments. Guided by my faith, I strive to demonstrate compassion, kindness, and a commitment to serving others in all aspects of my personal and professional life, which fuels my strong desire to serve and protect my community and apply my skills, dedication, and resilience to a rewarding career in the Fire Service.
I started here as bar staff, developing strong customer service, teamwork, and operational skills. My consistent performance and proactive approach led to promotion as General Manager, overseeing daily running of the club, staff management, stock control, and service standards. This reflects my initiative, leadership, and ability to adapt to greater responsibility while driving team and business success.
My keys duties and responsibilities include:
Team Management - As General Manager of Shots Watford, I lead and support staff, ensuring high standards of work and efficiency while fostering a respectful, friendly, and supportive team environment.
Customer Service - I deliver excellent customer service by creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, managing bookings, Pool/Snooker table allocations, and bar service. I build strong relationships with regulars, encourage new memberships, and have strengthened my communication skills through the social aspect of the role.
Safety - I prioritise safety by managing conflict through de-escalation and problem-solving, while taking decisive action when staff or customer wellbeing is at risk, which can involve removing individual(s) if necessary. I also ensure the team is trained in emergency procedures, maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
Staff Training - I oversee staff training and development, mentoring new employees on till systems and booking procedures while creating a supportive and welcoming work environment. After trial shifts, I provide constructive feedback and make fair, balanced hiring decisions.
Organisation and cleanliness - Maintaining organisation and cleanliness is a key part of my role. I manage bar stock, including supplier visits and keg orders, and ensure beer lines are regularly cleaned. I keep the club tidy by cleaning tables, collecting glasses, and arranging furniture. Closing duties include restocking and rotating drinks, bringing in new kegs, and counting cash, ensuring the venue is ready for the next day.
Event organization - I manage weekly Snooker league matches, as well as pool tournaments, and large group bookings and parties. I ensure everything runs smoothly by setting up the space, providing the pool tables, ordering food, and promoting events to customers.
As a McDonald’s crew member, I handled drive-thru orders, payments, and food delivery while providing friendly, attentive service tailored to individual customer needs, including dietary requirements. The role enhanced my communication, multitasking, and task-prioritisation skills, reinforcing the importance of a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
Long-Distance Running - I am passionate about long-distance running, training 2–3 times per week to build endurance and continually enhance my fitness.
Weight Training - I train at home five times a week, focusing on weightlifting to build upper body strength and improve overall fitness.
Historical Reading - I dedicate much of my free time to my passion for history, enjoying books on significant historic periods and events, and am keen to continually deepen my understanding of the past.
8-Ball Pool - I applied for my role at Shot's Sports Bar due to my passion for pool, enjoying the social and competitive aspects of the sport as a regular player with family and friends.
Watford FC - As a lifelong Watford FC supporter, I have enjoyed attending matches at Vicarage Road Stadium for years, sharing the experience with my father.
Scouts - I was actively involved in scouting from ages 6 to 16 with the Watford South Explorer Scout District, progressing through Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorer Scouts. I developed organization and leadership skills by assisting younger scouts with camps and activities, and learned the importance of teamwork through collaborative tasks such as cooking, shelter building, and campfire preparation during weekly sessions and camping trips.
Saxophone - During my school years, I played the saxophone and achieved Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum music medals, as well as Grade 1 and Grade 2.
