As a retired Police Officer, with almost 30 years experience, working for Merseyside Police, and experience of work in various employments since, I have developed numerous work and life skills alongside other attributes, which I believe would be hugely beneficial to this role.

I retired from the Police 6 years ago, however I remain a highly motivated individual who is prepared to work hard and am fully prepared to undergo the required training to further develop skills relevant to this role.

I would also look forward to developing working relationships with new colleagues.

I work well individually, but equally as important, as a team member, something that was often required in my role as a Police Officer.

Having spent most of my working life in customer facing roles, I have developed excellent communication skills in that I know how to speak to and listen to people, in any given scenario. I have the skills and abilities to resolve issues that may arise, ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction are achieved and maintained.

I am proud to be able to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, smartness in appearance and excellent time management.

I have a passion for driving and am proud in that I have held a clean UK driving license for over 40 years, this including being a Police advanced driver through most of my career.

Partly due to this passion, and also my role as a vehicle delivery driver, a role I held after leaving the Police, I have an excellent geographical knowledge of the UK, this being crucial in achieving a safe and timely arrival at destinations.

The role was a rapidly changing one in terms of constant changes to traffic conditions, weather and customers not being available at the arranged times. This meant working well under pressure and having the ability to make decisions on the spot.

It also involved phone communication with the store managers or customers themselves.

Following completion of a round, the vehicle is returned to the store and appropriate documentation completed fully and accurately.
