  • Member of the Station's Senior Leadership Team making Strategic and Tactical Decisions for Generation, Defuelling and Transfer/Decommissioning;

  • Ensure that Contract Partners maintain full compliance within agreed safety and environmental standards and expectations by regularly reinforcing these standards and expectations. This is executed by spending time in the field observing and coaching behaviours;
  • Oversight and management of multi-million pound Contracts;
  • Encourage and support the development of partnerships with Contract Partners to integrate them into EDF systems and processes with joint ownership of works;
  • Provide commercial leadership for allocated contracts ensuring ‘value for money' is obtained from the supply of all goods and services. This includes supplier appraisal, supporting development of specifications, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, contract placement, inaugural meetings, variation management, claim management, programme / performance monitoring and payment validation.
  • Act as the main point of contact between EDF and the Contract Partners. This includes providing internal advice within EDF where necessary;
  • Arrange site access for all Contract Partners, taking into account Induction Training and Security Vetting;
  • Ensure that Contract Partner staff are suitably qualified and experienced for the tasks that they will perform in line with Site Licence conditions;
  • Manage the contract expenditure on behalf of the station and contribute to the development of the station financial strategy/plan using appropriate procurement strategies.
  • Identify, understand and manage commercial risks and, when appropriate, seek support from specialists (ie. Central Supply Chain, Legal) to minimise EDFs risk exposure;

  • I have been part of the Station Emergency scheme arrangements for circa 25 years and currently fulfil the role of Emergency Admin and Welfare Officer; a role that I have held for circa 12 years. I was also part of the original covid reporting team at the station including the development of the reporting process.
