Summary

A strategic leader with extensive experience in General Management and Operations within NHS England and Wales, as well as in Private and Third Sector organisations, the latter with a UK remit. Significant Ambulance Service experience, in NHS Wales and NHS England services, within clinical (Paramedic), training and senior managerial roles. With a passion for education and supporting individuals to develop, I am proud to have facilitated the transformation of Paramedic education from its vocational base, having designed and directed the first BSc (Hons) Pre-Hospital Care degree programme at the University of the West of England in 2006. As a Gold Commander (Wales Gold Trained) for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, I have overseen numerous critical incidents and business continuity situations on behalf of the Health Board, maintaining my credibility and expertise for EPRR through ongoing CPD opportunities, leading major incident faculty command, and via strategic representation at Local Resilience Forums, on behalf of the Health Board. I have demonstrable experience across all sectors of delivering safe and effective services whilst maintaining a robust operational grip, prudent financial control and with a continuous commitment to improve patients' experiences and outcomes. In 2025/26, I led my division to achieve a surplus budget position, delivering a 3% CIP against a 2% target for my budget which is c.£45 million. I am known for being a strong, supportive and a compassionate senior manager who empowers individuals to step-up and to take accountability, developing individuals' confidences to thrive in their roles to create cohesive and successful teams. I am also a results-driven General Manager with a flair for transforming under-performance, driving change through inspiration and innovation, with a steadfast commitment to embedding safe and respectful working environments.
