  • Member of the EU domain architect group, advising senior leadership as FedEx adopts business agility and lean portfolio management.
  • Creating a cross domain business architecture function in Europe for FedEx. Responsible for onboarding new members and coaching them through the methods to adopt business architecture concepts required to deliver solutions in a multiple ART portfolios.
  • Documenting the business capabilities enabling modernisation of a global address correction and validation solution, hosted across global Azure platforms for regional resilience.
  • Following an extensive navigation vendor selection process, created the technical architecture design for the chosen vendor. This design enabled deployment to 13,000 Android devices in Europe and the methods to integrate with the vendors SaaS for license management and traffic updates. Cost benefits achieved through negotiating an extended usage period of 3 years.
  • Designed the roadmap for the multiyear approach to increase the European geocode quality to 95% rooftop accuracy incrementally through 6 enabler work packages.

  • Directing software designs to TNT IT platforms, enabling them to interact and co-exist with FedEx IT platforms

  • Due to 2017 NotPetya virus outbreak affecting many thousands of servers and PC's:

Assigned the role of recovery lead over a critical set of TNT applications

Enabled service restoration to all TNT stations and over 15,000 couriers reducing ongoing business losses that cost TNT £220 million

Responsibilities

  • From January 2017, following deal completion in June 2016, responsibility shifted to planning solutions enabling combined TNT and FedEx station facilities
  • Working out strategic direction for mobility, dispatch and data exchange solutions with business owners to have one single system by 2020
  • Progress reports to project management on solution deliverables
  • Provide direction and guidance to TNT outsourced test and development resource when interacting with FedEx IT teams.

Interests

Personal details , I enjoy running in my spare time to keep active and fit. I aim one day to run a marathon. When time allows, I play golf. I was until July 2011 a member of the royal naval reserve, holding the rank of able rate in the above water warfare branch. This position gave me a very useful insight into how the military operate in relation to the normal business world. I also spent 9 months away from TNT when mobilised for military service in December 2009.
