CNR Ninian South Platform

• Mechanical Team Leader on the CNR Ninian South Platform.
• Leading the mechanical maintenance team and associated vendors to provide delivery of scheduled and reactive work scopes.
• Act as Area Authority for designated areas ensuring that there is no conflicts of work scope.
• Act as Isolating Authority to ensure that all isolation's are designed, implemented and removed as per company policy.
• Liaising with planning and production departments to plan for CM's, PM's and APM's.
• Duties include commissioning, maintaining and overhauling various types of mechanical equipment including Fire Pumps, MOL Pumps, Sea water lift pumps, Gas Turbines, Diesel Engines, Heat exchangers, Valves, H-Vac systems, Gas and Air Compressors.
• Planned maintenance tasks inclusive of safety critical checks, weekly Fire pump runs and Lifeboat inspections.
• Multi skilled to monitor and operate process and utility systems throughout the platform.
• Alignment of Equipment using Rotalign laser alignment equipment.
• Creating WCC's and ICC's to cover all maintenance and OPS work scopes using PI Vision permit system.
• Raising and completion of work orders using Maximo software.
• OERTM and Coxswain trained.

BP Clair Ridge

• Duties include Static and Dynamic Commissioning of systems, function testing and repairing various types of drilling and production equipment.
• Hands on testing and set up of all mechanical field equipment, inclusive of Gas Turbines, Various Pumps, Compressors, Heat exchangers, Valves and Piping systems.
• P & ID line walks, valve/pipework alignment checks and Mechanical completion acceptance.
• Creating WCC's to cover all commissioning work scope using ISSOW permit system. Isolation authority trained to SIRPS City & Guilds SCQF Level 5 and level 2 risk assessor.
• Alignment of Equipment using laser alignment equipment and Dial Gauges. Pump coupled runs monitoring and recording Temperatures, Vibration and Speed.
• Interpreting all engineering documentation including datasheets, P&IDs, Vendor drawings and pump curves. Ensuring that all commissioning procedures are carried out to enable a safe and smooth handover of systems to operations.

Worldwide

• Working throughout the world on various types of oil rigs and shipyards as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer working on a variety of offshore Drilling and production equipment.
• Installation, Inspection and Commissioning of Drilling and production equipment.
• Troubleshooting, Repairing and overhauling Mechanical Drilling equipment.
• Testing, Commissioning and repair of hydraulic systems.
• Equipment includes various types of Mud pumps, Drawworks, Top Drives, Cranes, Valves, Crowns, Deadline Anchors and pipe handling equipment.
• Daily reporting and updating relevant documentation.
• Supervision and training of personnel.

• Working as part of the assembly/service department manufacturing and overhauling various types of large scale Pumps, Motors, Gearboxes and Hydraulic systems.
• Assembling various types of Multi Stage, Centrifugal, Barrel, Split Casing Pumps from engineering drawings.
• Installation and commissioning of various types of Pumps and associated equipment.
• Alignment of Pumps using DTI'S and laser alignment equipment.
• Inspection and measurement of components.
• Installation and overhaul of various types of Hydraulic equipment.
• Hydro testing Pumps and associated equipment.
• Supervision of contract staff during overhaul/servicing of Pumps on various sites throughout the world.

Ineos Refinery Grangemouth

• Working on a number of large scale projects at Ineos petrochemical plant in Grangemouth.
• Installation and commissioning of various Mechanical plant & equipment.
• Alignment of mechanical plant and equipment using DTI'S and laser alignment equipment.
• Pressure testing various equipment and pipework systems.
• Pipework fabrication and installation.

• Duties include maintaining and overhauling various types of Pumps, Motors, Gearboxes, Cranes, Heat exchangers, Valves, Boilers and Compressors.
• Maintaining Hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Pipework fabrication/installation.
• Alignment of mechanical plant and equipment using DTI'S and laser alignment equipment.
• Machining components using lathes and milling machines.

• Gained my NVQ level 3 and City & Guilds engineering apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter, working in various power stations and oil and gas sites throughout the UK. These sites include (BP Grangemouth, Ineos Grangemouth, GSK Irvine and Shell Mossmoran).
