Agency job after being laid off from Snowdonia cheese.
Started in production where I had worked approximately 12 years earlier (for nearly 6 years), I was then moved into the warehouse as most of my recent experience was warehouse based. Unfortunately I was then laid off after a few months as the company wasn't as busy as they were expecting to be.
Started in production but after a few weeks I was moved into despatch as I had a forklift licence and experience in despatch and warehouse work. initially I was due to train up in despatch so that they would have cover for when other despatch staff took annual leave later in the summer but as it got busier I ended up staying in despatch. When the company expanded to a new site in Deeside I went with the other staff and continued there. Tasks included picking large export orders, packing and wrapping and then eventually loading onto wagons, we also did smaller online orders that were labelled and sent straight out to customers. as well as pallet orders for different retail customers. Even though this was an agency job I was under the impression that I would go permanent after 3 or 6 months. Unfortunately once the Christmas rush was over I along with several short term agency staff were laid off. The agency then arranged for me to go to Trb after the Christmas holidays.
I worked in stores (goods in) through an agency. Unloading deliveries of parts and materials for production, putting deliveries of stock away. Some of which were then picked by material handlers from various parts of production, some which were issued directly by stores staff. We also used to have to put away coils and sub assembly parts before they were also issued to other parts of production. Also picked and packed after sales parts for various customers as well as orders for other ReflexAllen sites to be despatched world wide.
