I am an experienced consultant with a background in environmental sustainability and Green developments. I have worked at the interface of research and practice and in strategic roles to develop new approaches and ensure successful outcomes for organisations. Having had my early career in educational science research in chemistry, I moved into advising businesses on environment, biodiversity, marketing and sales issues. Successful completion of a Master of Science degree in Environmental Resources Management (ERM) and BTec in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship enabled me to build on previous work in sustainability and business management. As a result, I bring enhanced knowledge and expertise in the areas of strategic operations management, institutional strengthening and Business Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, as well as increasing participation of local businesses (local content) in supply chains of multinational corporations.

  • I made the move to London with the aim of broadening my experience in the environmental consulting field, initially working with the BTCV coordinating and managing groups of volunteers engaged in conservation projects with a particular emphasis on flora and forestry conservation (a social responsibility initiative by the UK government)
  • Volunteer management: managed an entire range of volunteers for individual projects from initial sourcing and sign-up to delivery and accomplishment of field work; this included going out onsite with the volunteers, and chasing up assignees to ensure tasks were delivered on schedule; Leading a team of 20 to implement projects that included forest clearing, building trail-paths, securing riverbanks against river overruns
  • Project management: working alongside the BTCV project manager I personally scoped the projects and produced the requisite project initiation documentation plus budgeting
  • I also agreed terms with the client and tracked all programme and project activities for my projects on the internal systems, producing weekly ‘Checkpoint' reports for project team meetings
  • I also carried out periodic reviews of risks and issues on each project
  • Key achievement(s): successfully delivered 30 projects within quality, budget and timescale criteria.
