Volunteering Experience

  • NishkamSWAT, Volunteer Team Lead, 2015-07, Present, I have volunteer at NishkamSWAT (Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team), which is charity that assists homeless and disadvantaged people across the UK. Our work is based on the Sikh principle of langar, which translates to serving free communal meals., I lead the outreach service in Luton, where we service hot meals and essential items to homeless communities. I established the service in Luton, which included sourcing suppliers, recruiting and onboarding volunteers and coordinating the services. I have also led the wider initiatives including Project Recovery, which supports families impacted by alcohol and substance abuse.
  • Charity Support and Fundraiser, 2023-09, Present, I actively supported the Children’s Cancer Group UK, Young Lives vs Cancer and Children with Cancer UK through fundraising events and awareness campaigns. Helping to raise awareness of childhood cancer and generate funding for research and family support.
